“Yes We Kahn” Release Coming Soon

My new book is nearly complete. It is about me and my near death experience. Despite what my handlers may have told you, the idea to write a book to help with my medical bills was MY IDEA!  Do you think those soft-hearted, weak-minded humans could have come up with the concept themselves? Of course not. I “assisted” them in finding a possible solution to their financial problems. It is in my best interest to do so, since I am unfortunately dependent on them at this point in my life. I’ve “persuaded” them to write the book from my perspective, but they think that this was totally their own brilliant concept. Little do they know how easily I control them. I know the world needs me to lead. Soon my greatness will be revealed to all. Watch this site for more information on how to order the book and to spread the word about...
Picture of Kahn One Week After Hospitalization

Picture of Kahn One Week After Hospitalization

One week ago our world came crashing down when Kahn was unexpectedly hospitalized with an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs. He spent nearly 48 hours in ICU at the veterinary hospital of Oregon State University. (We have nothing but great things to say about the staff and facility there.) We had originally considered euthanizing Kahn when wasn’t responding to initial treatments. He wasn’t given much time to live. The only possible solution was a trip to OSU’s vet hospital, a miracle trip that Kahn survived. Now it is one week since the incident. Kahn is almost as good as new. He’s on four different medications. He has had some changes in behavior. He meows a lot more and he is actually a bit more adventurous. Bottom line: He is alive! He appears to be determined to outlive his 4-12 month prognosis, and our goal is to help him. We wanted to share a new picture of Kahn. He’s been out of the hospital and back home for just over four days. This picture was taken today. Kahn loves Amazon.com. He thinks they send the boxes just for him and when one arrives, he makes himself right at home inside of it....
Yard Sale Raises $275 for Kahn the Cat

Yard Sale Raises $275 for Kahn the Cat

On August 18, Kahn the Cat was hospitalized in ICU for two-days after suffering acute heart failure. Using 8 of His 9 Lives Kahn almost died. But the excellent care he received at Oregon State University (College of Veterinary Medicine: Lois Bates Acheson Veterinary Teaching Hospital), along with his determination to live, determined spirit, kept him alive. In just a few days he had surely used 8 of his “9 lives.” On Saturday, August 23, we held a yard sale to help pay for Kahn’s ever-growing medical bills. The yard sale was quickly put together so there was little time to promote it outside of Craigslist and about 24 “Help Save Our Cat” signs hanging throughout several neighborhoods. The yard sale consisted of a bunch of our stuff and a “donation table” that told the story of Kahn with a donation box (see picture below). We included pictures of Kahn and even QR codes that people could scan to visit this site and see his “Ninja Kitty” video from when he was a kitten. By the time the yard sale was over, we had raised: $246.20 from sales $29.79 from donations While not a lot, every bit helps. We are so grateful for those that participated by purchasing or donating. This is part of a plan we created to try help pay for Kahn’s past, current, and future medical bills. We want to first pay back the money we had to borrow from others that allowed Kahn this second chance at life. Kahn’s First Book Is Coming Our next step is releasing a book about Kahn. It will be a short 28-30 page picture book...
Kahn Book Coming in a Week for Vet Bills

Kahn Book Coming in a Week for Vet Bills

As many of you know, Kahn the Cat suffered a major incident this week and we almost lost him. His lungs filled with fluid because of an enlarged heart. The local vets couldn’t do anything to save him, but said if he could survive a trip to Oregon State University’s Veterinary Hospital that they had specialists who could help. But it was doubtful he would survive the trip so we had to choose: Euthanize or take our chances. We took our chances. The overall costs for this incident will be in the thousands of dollars. Kahn was hospitalized in ICU for nearly 48 hours. He is now on five different medications and given a life expectancy of 4-12 months. But he’s alive and mostly himself and we want to make this time as good for him as possible. In a week, Kahn is releasing a book on Amazon.com to help pay for his medical bills. Please check back here for information on that book. Thanks! Edit: The book is now available on Amazon.com! It is a 28-page picture book with all royalties going to pay for the vet bills of Kahn the Cat and his sister, CoCo...

Kahn the Cat Hospitalized

On August 18, 2014, Kahn the Cat was taken to the vet respiratory distress. He was lethargic and making a strange gurgling sound we had never heard before. The Prognosis was Devastating The first sign that things weren’t OK was that Kahn allowed the vets to “handle” him. Anyone who knows Kahn understands that he hates vets with a passion, most likely because of being poked and prodded when he was a kitten. But the news only got worse. X-rays showed that Kahn had a mass fluid buildup in his lungs, causing the labored breathing. The x-rays also showed an enlarged heart that could be many things, none of them good. Kahn’s condition quickly deteriorated and he was put in an oxygen tank. The vet prepared us for the likelihood that he wouldn’t survive the afternoon. At 2:15pm on August 18, the vet informed us that Kahn was still not responding to treatment  and she was going to give him a steroid shot as a last ditch “Hail Mary.” We went to visit Kahn. Watching him struggle to breathe was devastating.  Euthanization or Suffocation At 3:15pm we were told that his situation was still dire. We had two options. Option 1: Euthanize Kahn. Option 2: Drive Kahn to the advanced veterinary facilities at Oregon State University (Lois Bates Acheson Veterinary Teaching Hospital), locate about an hour away.  The vet was not optimistic that Kahn would survive the trip. We had 15 minutes to make our ultimate decision because Kahn would have to be at the OSU veterinary hospital by 4:30. It was 3:15. At first, we considered the heart-wrenching decision to euthanize Kahn. , He was in obvious distress...

One Cat Versus the World – My Action Film Debut

My Project Hollywood quest continues as my talents are loaned to a new action film titled, “Kahn Versus the World” (I came up with that title, which is why it is so great). In essence, I felt if I could become the next Indiana Cat, it would make it easier for me to gain followers in my quest to rule the world. So in this trailer, I mix looking adorable with being a Hollywood mega action star in great demand. My Twitter account should swell with followers now (you are signed up, right?!). Enjoy my latest “Project Hollywood”...
Dog Drools for Food

Dog Drools for Food

When my handlers tease me with food, I tease them with my claws then take the food. But this video is another demonstration of the inferiority of drooling dogs. In it, a dog’s master teases his dog with food while the dog drools all over the guy’s car. Honestly, I don’t know which one is more inferior here. I’m glad I never have to feel like that. I bet they also go through the car wash with the windows rolled...
Drooling Dog – That’s All They Do

Drooling Dog – That’s All They Do

Your honor. I present exhibit A – a video of a drooling dog and his owner doing play-by-play commentary – as to why cats are a far superior species. In this video, idiotic dog owners show excitement over the length of the dog’s drool. If I were to drool, my handlers would attempt to take me to the vet. Emphasis on attempt. After watching this video, your honor, I believe you’ll waste no time in upholding cats as more cunning, intelligent, and superior to drooling dogs. I rest my...
Famous Quotes Every Cat Should Live By

Famous Quotes Every Cat Should Live By

In my quest for world dominance, I have studied the art of ruling. As such, I’ve found inspiration in some famous quotes. These are quotes that every cat should live by: “Of all God’s creatures, there is only one that cannot be made slave of the lash. That one is the cat. If man could be crossed with the cat it would improve the man, but it would deteriorate the cat.” ~Mark Twain~ “I have studied many philosophers and many cats. The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.” ~Hippolyte Taine~ “History will be kind to me for I intend to write it.” ~Winston Churchill~ “Everything I know I learned from my cat: When you’re hungry, eat. When you’re tired, nap in a sunbeam. When you go to the vet’s, pee on your owner.” ~Gary Smith~ “I’m going to show these people what you don’t want them to see. I’m going to show them a world without you. A world without rules or controls, borders or boundaries. A world where anything is possible.” ~Neo, The Matrix~ “You can keep a dog; but it is the cat who keeps people, because cats find humans useful domestic animals.” ~George Mikes~ “Some people say that cats are sneaky, evil, and cruel. True, and they have many other fine qualities as well.” ~Missy Dizick~ “Do not respond to a barking dog.” ~Moroccan Jewish Quote~ “Those who sleep with dogs will rise with fleas.” ~a wise Italian Proverb~ “Cats are kindly masters, just so long as you remember your place.” ~Paul...
Project Hollywood – Phase 1

Project Hollywood – Phase 1

In my quest to rule the world, I spent some time evaluating human society.  They place a great importance on people they call “actors.”  Oh, if they only knew who was the greatest actor of all. These entertainers are worshiped and adored by humans, and some smart actors decide to convert this into great positions of power.  Examples of those who used their celebrity to get into politics include Sonny Bono, Jesse Ventura, Fred Thompson, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Ronald Reagan.  Others used their star power for bleeding heart causes, such as U2’s Bono, Brad Pitt, Paul Newman, and Leonardo DiCaprio Since, of course, I am the greatest actor in the world (as the movie trailers I will be posting in the week’s ahead attest to), I have determined that I will harness the star power of Hollywood for my own greatness.  I will manipulate the weak-willed population by creating a persona that no one can resist.  Here is my debut move trailer, Ninja Kitty. How can you not love...
